Showcases Fur Nation concept through ‘Fur by HK’
 

Today’s 2014 Fur Gala demonstrated the epitome of fur fashion, further inspiring local and international designers to discover the versatility and elegance of fur as an ideal clothing material. The fashion show was presented under the theme ‘Fur Nation’, and enabled local designers to show off their creativity on the runway and win over the passionate applause of over 2,000 attendees.
 
The Fur Gala, featured on the first night of the annual Hong Kong International Fur and Fashion Fair organised by the Hong Kong Fur Federation, attracted a total number of 16 famous local furriers to showcase their latest collection. The Gala continues to develop the local industry’s reputation as an international centre of ingenious, high-quality fashion with ‘Fur by Hong Kong’.
 
To encourage designers to flaunt their original flair, this year’s Fur Gala was presented under the theme ‘Fur Nation’, which was comprised of five scenes: Folkloric, Formation, Fabulously Sporty, Fabulous and Fantasia, used to present exquisite designs from the 16 local furriers. With the aid of music and visual effects, each performance brought the audience a different aspect of ‘Fur Nation’. Each of the fur garments showcased was a feast for the eyes, included short jackets, long coats, capes, sports jackets, skirts, dresses, evening dresses and wedding gowns.
 
Apart from the splendid Gala, the Hong Kong Fur Federation continues to work with local leading designers on the ‘Designers Love Fur Collection’ with the theme ‘Fur Fantasia’. Eight designers, including Ms. Bonita Cheung, Ms. Lu Lu Cheung, Mr. Arthur Lam, Ms. Hei Lau, Mr. Lo Sing Chin, Ms. Hidy Ng, Mr. William Tang and Mr. Kevin Yeung, collaborated to show off their extraordinary talent.
 
Hong Kong’s fur fashion design has progressed well beyond international fashion standards, resulting in its leading position. This year, the Federation had invited valuable guests, which include Mr. Vladimir Anatolyevich Kalinin, Consul-General of the Russian Federation; Mr. Christodoulos Margaritis, Consul-General of Greece; Mr. Nurzhan Abdymomunov, Consul-General of Republic of Kazakhstan; and Mrs. Sari Aho, Consul of Finland.
 
The Hong Kong Fur Gala has always been the most important event in the fur industry, drawing the attention of over 2,000 buyers around the world that crowded the venue. For the first time, furriers from Kazakhstan were also invited to join this year’s prestigious event.

    This collection showcases simple yet elegant purplish blue and brown scarf, along with mid-length and long coats made of fox, mink and sable. The use of detailed shearing makes these designs much lighter than usual. Interlaced with black, brown, blue, green, purple and yellow colours, these designs have multiple layers of lines and patterns, giving them a strong, original ethnic style.
  • KING LORENZ FUR (HK) LTD Show Detail
    This series consists of short, mid-length and long coats coupled with shawls. Made with black, white and beige mink and fox, both long-haired and sheared, these pieces are completed with tassels. Together with their light texture, this series characterizes indigenous tribes of Africa.
  • U.K. FUR CO LTD Show Detail
    Elegantly made with bright red colour under the theme ‘Swing Luxury’. This collection consists of one-piece fur dress, mid-length and long coats, which are made with cross mink and silver fox finished with black stripes and mink tassels. This collection demonstrates folk aesthetics while also showcasing the golden age of the 1920’s.

    Made of mink and fox in green and orange, the collection is comprised of various loose and straight-cut coats, which are made with different combinations of colours and cutting and hanging techniques. This collection resembles spectacular valleys and grasslands found in the wild.
  • LANCA FUR TRADING CO LTD Show Detail
    This collection features youthful and trendy ombre coats that resemble naturally layered bedrock. These designs made of cross mink with stripes of different colours, are perfect for prudent yet youthful people. Made of goose-down jacket on one side and mink on the other, some hooded coats of this collection are reversible.

    This collection is composed of mink and fox in a gradation of blue and peach red. Capes, long dresses, short and mid-length coats are patterned with embroideries and crystals. All these features foster a contrast between a calm ocean and burning fire. In addition to these elements, the collection also boasts full-bodied textures created with mink and ostrich feather.

    Using stripes in combination of yellow, blue, red, orange, black and white, this collection of short and long coats are made with mink and interlaced with chinchilla and fox in the middle. This collection is unique for its clever use of colours and fur, elegantly resembling patterns on marble.

    Themed “Ice and Snow”, a collection of cape, short and long coats, both fox and mink are showcased in white and different shades of blue. Gradients of sky blue and light blue offer a sense of brightness and layering in these designs. Exclusive stitching, 3D cutting and unique dyeing techniques make this collection vivid, light and slim.

    Fashionable yet youthful short jackets, cocoon coats and 2-in-1 long coats made of mink and astrakhan trimming in grey. Stitching and dyeing make this collection full yet light. Beneath the fur is a down-padded layer, which is light and suitable for different occasions.
  • DAI-ICHI MADAM FUR LTD Show Detail
    This ‘Pure Red’ collection is made of sheared mink, alternated with karakul and platinum fox. Lightened skilfully with small holes, this collection is composed of short and long coats and one-pieces, characterised by their layered, light and soft textures. Depending on the design, various details are added. These layered and elegant designs making them ideal for urban women.

    This series of elegant capes and coats in navy blue and piquant green are made with a clever use of different shades of the same colour. With their combination of mink, muskrat, fisher, fox, badger and beaver, this collection emphasises curves. Most of the coats of this series are decorated with lambskin on or around the arm and waist. Metal accessories and details add to either the collar or shoulder perfectly, highlighting the elegance of a strong woman.
  • INTERNATIONAL FUR CO LTD Show Detail
    A collection of sheared and long-haired mink in blue matched with fox and Chinese broadtail. Combined with different cutting techniques, these dark blue long and short coats are shaded with elegance and mystery. They are made of streamlined fur that scatters on the panels and shoulders, adding layered textures to the design.
