Announcing 2020 Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair

migrating to Virtual Platform - expected to launch in mid of July

While the coronavirus epidemic is showing signs of easing across the world, global travel restrictions and concerns persist. At this difficult moment, our overseas and Chinese mainland exhibitors are uncertain about the quarantine requirements of different countries thus stopping their business plan.

Since the Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair is the focal event of the industry, attracting an average of 4,000 buyers every year. HKFF believes that maintaining the Fair in this year carries a very special meaning and it is of primary importance as it shows our determination to provide the opportunity for worldwide furriers to keep their business moving even at this toughest time that we are facing.

In order to help exhibitors and buyers grasp the first possible chance for business, HKFF will migrate the physical Fur Fair to a virtual platform “Style HK Virtua Expo” organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) targeting visitors in mainland market.

The virtual exhibition is expected to launch in mid July 2020. And there is no completion date for virtual exhibition at the moment, i.e. business keeps running on every calendar day of the year.

40 exhibitors will be participating in this brand-new virtual event. With the hard work and strong support from all exhibitors, the Fair will provide a unique one stop virtual platform for fur and fashion industry.

Buyers are cordially invited to visit “Style HK Virtua Expo”.

A breakthrough in maintaining the annual HK – Japan Fur Exhibition during the pandemic Date : 14 September, 2020 - 18 September, 2020

A breakthrough in maintaining the annual

HK – Japan Fur Exhibition during the pandemic

The Federation has organised the Hong Kong - Japan Fur Exhibition for many years which is a signature event for both Hong Kong & Japanese furriers. Sadly, due to visa and quarantine restrictions, members were unable to take business travelling freely this year.

Despite of the obstacle, the Federation came up with a breakthrough idea to stage the Hong Kong – Japan Fur Exhibition without our members attending the fair in person. An agent was appointed to help organising the event, exhibits were shipped and entered Japan under carnet. The appointed agent professionally handled all the logistics including arranging models for fitting and temporary staff for taking business orders etc.

The exhibition attracted 14 members’ participation and they were pleased to have the opportunity to show their “real” garment samples to Japanese buyers. And the Hong Kong Trade Development Council continues to be the co-organizer of the event.

Majority of the exhibitors appreciated the Federation’s initiative and great effort. Exhibitors commented that the fair was effective and hope Federation can organise exhibitions with the same format in other markets, such as Korea & Russia.
